McIntosh County Empty Stocking Fund

Its that time of year when you are going to be asked to give and give and give.
Its that time of year when you give and give and give…

In our community (McIntosh County) one outreach program is The Empty Stocking Fund; all monies, toys, donations, etc. stay local meaning that it never leaves McIntosh County, talk about helping a neighbor. Talk about relying on a community! The Empty Stocking Fund does not know what resources it will have available for assistance throughout our community this year. And like each year past, they would love to continue to be able to provide assistance for all referrals.

I know that times are hard. I know the condition of our economic state. I know that monies and resources are limited and like most households, mine too feels the crunch. We are at that time of year that means so much, yet is so busy and often time’s real meanings do not come forth because of the stress on hand. As many of you know there are many “outreach programs” that strive to provide assistance to all those in need during the holiday season, so that no one goes without.

I am asking for everyone to consider giving a minimum donation…nothing extravagant, it could be one day’s lunch money to a need, to a cause. There are people who choose to give gifts in honor, memory and even thanksgiving of someone(s).

I have donation envelopes and would be delighted to get one to you. All I ask is that you return the envelope with a small gift (or Large, your choice) to a bank teller @ Sapelo Southern Bank where it will be directly deposited into the Empty Stocking Fund Account.
